"I
was pleasantly surprised by a sampling of the
six beers on tap last week. In March, I'd
sampled Rafters' India pale ale at the Fairfax
Brewfest and had been shocked by its full-bodied
hoppiness. Figuring another taste would result
in something completely different, as had been
the track record for this brewery, I was shocked
again that it had the same characteristics and
abundant flavor this time around." |

"Rafters Grille & Brewery may not try to brew
the most exotic craft brew selection in the
area, but it does have refreshing, well-balanced
beers, good food and a welcoming atmosphere. I
found the bar crowd and staff to be quite
friendly and engaging, and, I felt like a
regular right away. The restaurant itself has a
very open, friendly environment complemented by
an exceptionally high ceiling and a brewhouse
that is visible from the dining room." |

"As the evening wound down and we became sated,
we returned to the question: Is Rafters' food as
good as it seemed, or were we just famished from
hiking? The clear consensus is that Rafters is
the full package with great beer and satisfying
food. And here's the rare part: it's a Marin
restaurant where you can have a big plate and a
pint in a comfortable room for under $20. I'll
